Is it essential to have a better slap sound with an amp? Because I don't use an amp and only use a regular Chinese brand speaker that I can use to play normal bass lines on. I tried to practice slap but I can't quite get the sound right.

when I started playing the bass, I taped my middle finger with the index finger (making them "one", sort of), in order to practice my ring finger to work properly...so with all honesty, I can play this reverse spider walk with decent speed.

I love the Bridge at 100 and volume/ neck tone at 50 and you get a solid muffle.

if you want to get Jaco sound, you should turn off "Tone" and turn off neck pickup.Only "Bridge pickup"all the way up, then you should get tone with your fingers, cheers

The chords are wrong ( some of them ). For example on the G major chord the third is flattened, making it a minor chord.

3 note chords. The A major. Surely the diagram is wrong. You have an Eb on the G string. In fact the E and G strings show the minor shape. The major 7 dot is right. ????

I use these for effects (sans pedal) for a couple of my synths. Very good and the price is right.

This is singularly the most plain explanation and pattern association version of memorizing the bass fretboard that Ive ever seen. After watching your video and running through it a few times, Ive actually got it for the most part...even that last little L shape with DGCF I just think about how people downtune to that tuning and we are at the 12th fret so it works for me,,,thank you so much. AS soon as I get paid I am going to buy you a few cups of coffee bro!!!

I’m hearing some smearing/modulation on your low E for the P Bass tone demo. This happens to me too when I turn my bass up on the EQ and wonder if anyone has developed some workarounds to get this tone without the pitch getting weird

The main part is fairly easy, but the fills are insanely hard for me. Mind you, I’ve mastered plenty of other “difficult” tracks, so I feel like John deacon is just taking the piss with this one 😂

Been a bassist since 8th grade in '67. I'm amazed at the quality of Squire basses these last several years. I work a little in the studio anymore ... but a LOT on stage still, and I own and use an even half-dozen Squire models. Regardless of Jazz or Precision or Jaguar or Telecaster (my "go-to" of late) they're all quality instruments and verrrrrrry confidence-inspiring. I'd highly recommend ANY of them.
